  54.                INSTALLATION
  55.  
  56.                     All of the Mouse support products are memory resident
  57.                executable .COM files that must be loaded prior to the
  58.                execution of the software they are designed to support. The
  59.                software has been compiled with the Microsoft Expert Menus
  60.                Compiler and requires the use of the Microsoft Mouse driver
  61.                version 6.1x or later. Other compatible mouse drivers and
  62.                mice may be used however there may be slight variations in
  63.                the operation of the software due to variations in the mouse
  64.                driver. Please refer to the notes regarding your particular
  65.                mouse.

  67.                     To use the mouse software you should create a batch
  68.                file following this format:
  69.  
  70.                     MenuName ON          Example:     PCPMOUSE ON
  71.                     SoftwareName                      PCPLUS
  72.                     MenuName OFF                      PCPMOUSE OFF

  74.                     If your mouse driver is correct and the mouse is
  75.                functional the menu software will respond with it's name and
  76.                the message "Installed". If there is an error in loading the
  77.                software will respond "Mouse Driver not found." The latter
  78.                of the two messages can indicated that your mouse driver is
  79.                not compatible with the Microsoft Mouse driver 6.1x and that
  80.                you should try and update your driver.

  83.                USE
  84.  
  85.                     Once installed the menu software is transparent and
  86.                inactive until activated by movement of the mouse or the
  87.                click of a mouse button. Each piece of software has it's own
  88.                help screen which will explain details of it's operation. In
  89.                general the following conventions will apply to all mouse
  90.                menu products;
  91.  
  92.                     LEFT BUTTON    - Activates On Screen Menus
  93.                     RIGHT BUTTON   - Selects from Menu or continues
  94.                                      operations selected.
  95.                     BOTH BUTTONS   - Cancels an operation.
  96.                     MID BUTTON     - Same as Both Buttons

  98.                     The MSMOUSE.COM software is an exception to this
  99.                standard. This software is LEFT BUTTON oriented for menus
  100.                and selections. The RIGHT button is used to invoke the
  101.                online help system.
  102.  
  103.                     When in use the menu software may reassign the function
  104.                of the mouse for compatibility with the software. When this
  105.                occurs a message will be placed on the screen indicating the
  106.                functions that each button will perform. Cursor movement is
  107.                controlled by the mouse in all cases.

  118.                     All software functions are controlled by the mouse when
  119.                the menu software is installed. Pressing the LEFT button
  120.                will always activate a menu that is appropriate to the
  121.                current function of the software you are using. Screen
  122.                colors are automatic and the menus appear to be part of the
  123.                software rather than an overlayed window to it.

  126.                NOTES

  128.                     TC-Mouse and TurboMouse both use a multi-menu system
  129.                that allows for control of both the environment and the
  130.                editor commands. Both of these products also contain a full
  131.                set of programmers macros that are designed for the language
  132.                they are used with. Selecting one of the macros will display
  133.                a Dialog box on the screen which will prompt you for some
  134.                variable information for the Macro that you have selected.
  135.                You may cancel a Dialog box, and the macro, by pressing the
  136.                ESCAPE key. Pressing the RETURN key or clicking the LEFT or
  137.                RIGHT mouse button will complete the action of the Dialog
  138.                box and the Macro.

  140.                     LOGITECH mouse users will find that the Microsoft
  141.                versions may not function as they should. This is due to the
  142.                incompatibility of the Logitech mouse driver to the
  143.                Microsoft mouse driver. You will find that the versions
  144.                designated for the Logitech mouse will compensate for these
  145.                slight differences in the drivers. The Logitech versions
  146.                will prove to be incompatible and will function erratically
  147.                with the Microsoft mouse. For this reason they are
  148.                considered different products and must be registered
  149.                separately.
